Old & Rare American Oak Second-Fill
16 Year Old American Oak Second-Fill Single Cask TD0123 was filled in August 2006 and decanted in June 2023, for a maturation of 16 years and 10 months.
After such a long maturation, this 300L American oak second-fill cask yielded only 420 bottles at 47.6% ABV.
Boasting a depth and refinement that can only come with age, our Old & Rare American Oak single casks are matured for a minimum of sixteen years. Aside from the notes of vanilla, caramel, coconut, fruit, and subtle white floral and herbal nuances, these whiskies are hugely textural with incredible complexity and length of palate.
As single cask bottlings, every tiny batch is different, expressing the unique characteristics of each barrel. Each bottle comes in a handmade, solid oak presentation box, and includes a letter of authenticity signed by our Distillery Manager.

TASTING NOTES
-
Nose
An inviting and complex nose with layers of tea leaves, fresh pine, and dried pineapple and apple rings. Delicate hints of timber varnish add depth, while alpine strawberries and a herbal-floral note evoke the elegance of potpourri. Dusty malt and creamy vanilla yoghurt bring warmth, complemented by lemon curd and a touch of brown sugar for sweetness.
-
Palete
Silky with a delicate grip, this whisky delights with its sweetness and texture. The creamy richness of a mango ice cream bar is paired with toasted coconut, rye bread, roasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Melting milk chocolate adds indulgence, while notes of apple, cinnamon, and buttery biscuits elevate the experience. Remarkably delicious and deeply satisfying.
-
Finish
A beautifully long and evolving finish that begins with mango and strawberry jam before moving into rum balls, coconut, and chocolate. Vibrant notes of kiwi and guava pop through, alongside sweet lychee in syrup. A chewy, buttery texture leads into layers of maple syrup, butterscotch, and toffee, reminiscent of a medley of decadent desserts.
